Brown retains Kumite Championship Kaitlyn Brown, a 2007 WESPY award winner, defended her Kumite Championship at the American Okinawa Karate Association Championships held in Charlotte, North Carolina last weekend. Brown won her three fights in the female (ages 15-17) black belt division to retain her title. Also, in May of this year Brown was nominated and won the Female Fighter of the Year Award, presented in San Antonio, Texas. Brown was nominated by the World Head of Family Sokeship Council, one of the most prestigious groups comprising of grand masters of Karate from around the globe. |
